Parkwood Lower Level
01. Sauna + Locker Room
Our third project with the Parkwood Knolls family. We transformed their walkout lower level into a spa-like retreat that keeps pace with the rest of their home, a functional space for their guests, their kids, and their year-round use.
The design centered on a custom 8-person sauna and a hallway that connects the guest bedrooms, guest bath, and pool area with a series of hooks and vertical trim detail. Downstairs also includes a comfortable guest bedroom and a home office rebuilt around natural light and a Zoom-ready accent wall.
Every finish was chosen to stay elevated and consistent with the rest of the house.
- Custom 8-person sauna: designed with thoughtful hemlock ceiling and wall details, moving beyond the standard stacked layout
- Locker room: airy cabinetry doors and functional storage throughout
- Guest bathroom: high-end finishes with playful subway tile patterns and a baseboard-style detail in the shower
- Hallway and tea station: tongue-and-groove vertical trim with hooks for guest bath and pool towels, plus a tea station tucked under the staircase for guests to grab tea or coffee before heading to the sauna
- Guest suite + office: full layout reworked for natural light and comfort; office features a custom accent wall optimized for Zoom calls
