When our clients first reached out, their home wasn’t outdated, it was underperforming.
Like many newer builds, it checked the boxes on paper. But in real life? The finishes lacked durability. The layout left valuable square footage underutilized. And the flow made everyday living and entertaining feel disconnected.
This main-floor remodel was about more than aesthetics. It was about elevating craftsmanship, reworking functionality, and creating a home that finally supported the way this family truly lives.
Reimagining the Heart of the Home
At the center of the transformation is a completely reworked kitchen, now thoughtfully positioned as the true heart of the main floor.
A dramatic range wall anchors the space, becoming both a design statement and a focal point. Arched openings soften the transitions and guide you naturally from one space to the next, adding architectural character that simply didn’t exist before.
This wasn’t just a cosmetic update. It was a strategic shift in how the home operates.

A Butler’s Pantry Designed for Entertaining
Just off the kitchen, a custom butler’s pantry creates both beauty and purpose.
On one side, a dedicated cocktail corner makes hosting effortless, a space designed intentionally for serving, mixing, and gathering. On the other, improved storage keeps everyday items organized and tucked away.
By relocating key functions and adding smart cabinetry, we transformed previously underutilized square footage into one of the most impactful spaces in the home.
A Mudroom That Actually Works
Opposite the pantry, a tailored mudroom with custom cabinetry introduces thoughtful storage where it matters most.
Durable materials, designated drop zones, and hidden storage ensure this space can handle real life, without looking like it does.
Because functionality should never come at the expense of beauty.
Elevated Details Throughout
The remodel extends beyond the kitchen. A refreshed bathroom brings cohesive finishes and improved flow, while enhanced storage throughout the main floor eliminates clutter and maximizes every inch.
Each update was approached with intention, not just replacing what was there, but asking how it could perform better.
A Four-Season Porch for Year-Round Living
One of the most transformative additions is the expanded footprint that made room for a four-season porch.
Window walls on three sides flood the space with natural light, while a wood-burning fireplace anchors it with warmth and comfort. The result is a cozy, year-round retreat that feels connected to the rest of the home, not like an afterthought.
It’s now a space for quiet mornings, winter evenings, and everything in between.

Designed for the Way They Live
This project is a reminder that a home doesn’t have to be old to need reinvention.
Builder-grade finishes and generic layouts often miss the mark when it comes to durability, flow, and everyday function. With thoughtful design and elevated craftsmanship, even a relatively new home can be transformed into something deeply personal and highly functional.
At Oak + Arrow, we believe remodeling isn’t just about updating materials. It’s about improving the experience of home.
If your space looks fine on the surface but isn’t working the way it should, it might be time to reimagine what’s possible.
